The mother and daughter team of Chris and Beth Ann Burgess established Docktails Inc in 2006, as a way to share their family's favourite cottage tradition of "cocktails on the dock". At this Muskoka-style happy hour, neighbours and guests gathered on the dock to celebrate summer with appetizers, drinks and sweets, which included the wonderful Lucky Duck Fudge.

The Nation family of Bala had been making Lucky Duck Fudge for cottagers and guests to Roselawn Lodge for nearly 20 years, and in 2007, Beverly Nation passed along the secrets of her famous fudge to Chris and Beth Ann. While maintaining the Lucky Duck Fudgery's classic and most popular flavours, the new cooks in the fudge kitchen have expanded to offer over 30 flavours and many new sweet treats.

Since that time, the "Duck" has been getting out and about. The Lucky Duck Fudgery has been spotted at community events including the Bala Santa Claus Parade, Flavours of Muskoka, and the Fall Cottage Life Show. The famous Lucky Duck Fudge is available at fine retail locations around the Muskoka region.
